Privacy policy
This policy describes what data Leximonsters and the other games published under the Malo Games brand collect, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the app and to this website.
Who we are
Malo Games is the brand under which Rispone (SARL au capital de 1 000 €, SIREN 944 425 487, RCS Saint-Malo), registered at 2 rue Théodore Monod, 35400 Saint-Malo, France, publishes its games. Rispone is the data controller.
For any question about your data: contact@malogames.com.
What the game collects
The game works without sign-up. On first launch it creates an anonymous account on our servers. Here is what that account holds, and what playing adds to it.
- A randomly generated account identifier and an access token, so we recognise your device from one session to the next.
- The nickname you choose, your country (derived from the device settings) and your language.
- Your rounds: the grid played, the words you found and when you found them, the score, the mode. This data powers scoring, leaderboards, statistics and duels — in a duel, another player can play against your round under your nickname and badge, without seeing your words.
- Your progress: points, level, badges, avatar.
If you link your account to Apple or Google, we only receive a technical identifier provided by Apple or Google, which lets us find your account on another device. We ask for neither your name nor your email address. On Android, the address shown in the game's settings stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Our servers keep technical logs (IP address, date and time, request, app version) for security and troubleshooting.
The game does not access your contacts, your location or your photos, and uses no audience analytics tool other than the advertising network described below.
Advertising
The game shows ads between rounds. They are served by Google AdMob, which may collect your device's advertising identifier and technical data to select and measure ads.
In the European Union and countries with equivalent rules, a form asks for your consent when the game opens. Without consent, ads are not personalised. You can change your mind at any time: “About” screen in the game, “Privacy options” button. On iPhone, you can also refuse tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Google's processing of data is described in its privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Why we process this data
- To provide the game — your account, your rounds, leaderboards, duels: performance of the service you ask us for.
- For security and anti-cheat — round verification, technical logs: our legitimate interest.
- For personalised advertising: your consent, which you can withdraw.
Where the data is, and who can access it
Your game data is hosted in France, on servers rented from OVH. We do not sell it to anyone.
It is shared only with the providers the service needs: OVH (hosting), Google (advertising and Google sign-in), Apple (Apple sign-in). Google may transfer data outside the European Union within the framework of its policy and the applicable safeguards.
How long
- Your account, progress and rounds: for as long as your account exists.
- Technical logs: at most 30 days.
- After your account is deleted, your rounds are detached from any identity and can no longer be linked to you.
Your rights
You can access your data, have it corrected or erased, request its portability, object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and withdraw your consent to personalised advertising.
To delete your account, follow the steps on the “Delete your account” page: https://www.malogames.com/en/delete-account/ — or write to contact@malogames.com from the device concerned, mentioning your nickname.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or your country's data protection authority.
Children
Our games are not designed for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data about them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, write to us: we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the version in force; a significant change will be announced in the game.
